Membership Guidelines

Any person of the Jewish faith and his/her spouse or domestic partner may apply for membership. The applicants shall signify willingness to abide by the Congregation’s Articles and By-Laws. An applicant can be approved as a member of the Congregation upon an affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Board of Trustees present at a duly constituted meeting of the Board of Trustees.

Additionally, persons who have resided in the greater Louisville area for less than twelve (12) months, and children of regular and associate members who have returned to Louisville and have resided in the greater Louisville area for less than twelve (12) months, and who do not belong to any congregation, may apply for affiliate membership. Upon approval, they will be entitled to limited membership privileges with no dues or building fund commitment payable until the end of the fiscal year (June 30).

Children of Regular and Associate Members that have been married by Temple Shalom Clergy and plan to reside in Louisville, Kentucky, may apply for Affiliate membership. Upon approval, they will be entitled to limited membership privileges with no dues or building fund commitment payable until the start of the next fiscal year (July 1).
